So, it's really late, but I just had to share some pictures and a little Julia story.

This morning, Julia conducted a 30 minute interview with me over breakfast while using two tootsie pops as her microphone. We discussed all of our favorite characters in our favorite movies and all of our wonderful people in our family. She started off by saying, "What is your name?" She is so funny!

Now, on to the pictures! These were so much fun to take! This couple exudes love! It doesn't hurt that they are tall and gorgeous too! We had the pleasure of meeting Michelle in her role as Julia's preschool teacher. We soon got to know her as she babysat for us and hung out at our house. Congratulations you two! I can't wait until the wedding!

These two facts are more connected than I ever realized. I was just informed by Julia that her and I cannot be best friends. Why not?

Obviously, it's because she is not a car.

We are in Krakow!

We made it yesterday evening and have been busy sleeping! We slept from midnight until 2pm today! We needed our sleep evidently, plus it was closer to our home time zone. We went to Babcia's this evening and of course, she had some great food. We had barscz with potatoes and corn on the cobb. Julia even ate it all and a ham sandwich! Luke and I also had some kremowka for dessert, which is puff pastry layers with a cream layer and a custard layer in the middle. It's so yummy- probably my favorite sweet in Poland!

We went by the mall on our way home to stop at the grocery store for a few things. (It's nice to have a grocery store in the mall!) We made it home and had a second dinner where Julia scarfed down some kielbasa and crackers. We also got to ride the new tram that leaves from an underground station at the mall. It was really nice!

We made it to bed late again tonight (it's 2:25am as I'm writing this), but hopefully Juila will sleep late again.

We put Julia to bed in the same room with us and tonight she was having trouble going to sleep.
She said, "Tata- We sound someone pressing keys on the computer."
Luke said, "I'm writing an email to a friend."
She replied, incredulously, "Really?!?!"

Just the tone of her voice was hilarious! She has been saying that a lot lately. It's really funny because it is at the most random times it seems.

Justin & Leslie

I had the great honor of capturing this awesome couple a few weeks ago. Leslie and Justin are expecting baby Eden at the beginning of December! They are some of our closest friends and I'm so glad I was able to spend some time with them, doing the things they love and capturing this special time in their lives before it all changes once baby Eden arrives! Justin likes to play guitar and Leslie is so laid back, not to mention, gorgeous! Here are some (it was hard to narrow it down) of my favorites.
They love to hang out on their back patio.
Justin has several guitars and he likes to play anytime he gets together with friends. I love how the reflection of Leslie's belly looked on the finish of the guitar.

I love these of Leslie, she is gorgeous and I love her beautiful eyes!

Justin and Leslie are known for their boots so we had to get a shot with them and I know they have plans to get Eden her very own pair very soon!
Thanks so much guys for letting me take these photos! You two (3 soon!) are truly blessings in our life!

2. How she asked for me to make her some "T-P-I-C" and then rephrased it as, "Can you make me some cinnamon toast".
3. How she tries to nibble the cinnamon sugar off the top of her toast but ends up eating it all anyway.
4. How she claps along with the ants in the movie "A Bugs Life".
5. How she snuggled in bed this morning and put one arm around each of our necks and told us she loved us.

My long project!

So, Julia and I are in Chicago this week and I'm working on getting caught up with editing and photos! Here is one I've worked on for a long time this morning and I just had to share it! Basically, I needed to print this large- 13"x16" but my camera takes photos in a 4x6 ratio. I had to go in and create the edge so that I didn't have blank or white edges when printing! Here is the before, with out edits. (The bride is getting married on September 26th, so I have to hide the dress!) Here is the before and after (you have to click the photo to see)

Many months ago when Julia learned her colors, she also began to learn about matching clothes. Her Mama would tell her: See this shirt matches this skirt, etc. etc.

Well, Julia gladly took up this mantle: my shirt matches Tata's shirt; my socks match my hair, my pajamas match your pants.

Yesterday, she took it to a new level. She got a green peppermint for desert (peppermints have been a favorite treat lately) and exclaimed:

My peppermint matches my plate!

There's a match few people are concerned about...

Julia and I went to the park today and I took a few pictures -- just for fun. We had a good time, but then the rain came, so we didn't stay long. Though it was fun to run home in the rain. Julia at the top of the slide. There was actually water on the slide, so she didn't want to sit down. She decided that just "being crazy" was fun enough. May I help you? While we were playing, the clouds rolled in, together with some wind gusts. The first time the wind came, Julia was surprised and a bit unsettled. She looked up at the sky as if to say: Why are you doing this to me? Here are her best wind avoidance techniques: Here she is looking through the little mail slot at the "General Store." And then the rain came, and we ran home.

"I'm going to give you a hug Mama so you can go to work." Too big!

I was trying to put a bed frame together this morning. It's pretty difficult though. I was really confused and well -- hopeless. Luckily Ms. Fix It came to the rescue and put it all together just like that. I was very thankful. She refused monetary payment, but was very thankful to accept a reward in sucker form. We were at the playground at Chick-fil-A ("Chick-o-Lay") and Julia made friends with a family of 3 kids (there were guardians too). They were all running around and sliding, and I heard the boy who, at about 6, was the oldest start talking to Julia. He asked her "what's 2+2?" Julia, paused for a short moment to consider the question and said "umm... 5, I think."

The boy's grandmother, with whom I'd been talking a bit said: Jacob you can't ask her that, she's only two. Jacob responded: "She told me she was five!" (I suppose he had no reason to expect she would lie.)

Bored of all the math Julia decided to talk to the young girl, about four or five, all about "Light McQueen" and Mater being best friends. I think this may have been her way of asking if the girl wanted to be friends. It's the suggestion method, I suppose. "You know, Light McQueen and Mater are best friends. It's interesting. And to think, here we are just talking and playing on the slide."

A day in the life of Julia

So Julia is growing up so fast! We are in our second week of swimming lessons. I just got back from being out of town for a week. I've had lots of photo shoots and a great wedding over this past weekend. I had to take a minute to share some photos of Julia though. Some things I've noticed and I love lately: 1. When I clipped her nails the other day, crayon scrapings were falling everywhere from where she had scrapped the wax. 2. We had some popcorn for a snack yesterday and she called it "Popcorn" not "Popcorns" like she used to. Awww.... 3. She is just talking so much! Today the pest control guy came to spray and she said, "That's the bug doctor. He is spraying the house. Where did the doctor go? Oh, he is in Mama and Tata's garage, spraying the bugs" 4. She has a habit of saying things like, "I'm hungry because.... I'm hungry" or "I'm going to put my shoes on because.... I'm going to put my shoes on." 5. Today she put on her shoes, "Look mommy, one house shoe and one boot!" The boot was a white dress shoe on her left and sure enough, a pink house slipper on her right. 6. It's non-stop almost. These are my new cards! They are on pearl paper with a UV gloss coat on the front and no gloss, just pretty pearl on the back. I'm so excited! Our 4th of July Celebration

Our family celebrated the 4th of July the weekend before the actual 4th with the Carlile family in Red Oak. We all stayed at an "upscale camping facility" which was, in fact, an empty house that is on the market, waiting for a buyer. It was so fun! We had a picnic inside with out the heat and mosquitos! There was also the community celebration going on right behind the house at the city park complete with a petting zoo, a baloon release and ending with fireworks launched from the foot ball field. Pool Play Date

So we went to a pool play date a few weeks ago at a friend's backyard pool and I got to test out my new waterproof camera I got for my trip to Mexico later this month. Dear Auntie Em,

Thank you so much for the card and the stickers. I really liked the
smiley face ones, especially the blue ones. I got to be really good at
peeling them off the paper and sticking them to my shirt in the same

The doctor just came to tell us the tubes are in and they are just drawing blood for the RAST allergy testing.

On another note, due to her loud screaming, the ENT doctor is pretty sure she doesn't have asthma because as he put it, "she's got a good set of lungs in her!" :-)

They just took her back and I think the nurse with the shower cap hat freaked her out so she went kicking and screaming. :-(

She was already having a fit because we had to wait in this 7x7 foot curtained area for an hour. I'm a little frusterated with the system or schedule they use here. It seems like they are not keeping their patients in mind when they have them show up an hour and fifteen minutes before they see the doctor.

J's Dr. Appt. Today

So we saw Dr. McMahon today and it was a good visit! J was so well behaved! She is still running a little temp., but I think it may be that she is cutting her last incisor tooth.

Her surgery is scheduled for a week from Thursday. I am so ready! I wanted tubes a long time ago. They are WAYYYYY overdue. This little girl has had more than her fair share of ear infections.

They aren't going to take out her adenoids due to the fact that it looks like she has allergies causing her nasal drainage more than inflamed adenoids. Since it looks like she has allergies (we already know about peanuts, but suspect she is allergic to cats and who knows what else!), they are going to do a RAST test while she is under anesthesia. They need to draw some blood for this test and it will tell us everything (almost) she is allergic to. It is more accurate than a skin test and better for kids since no skin pricking is involved. :-\ It will be easier on her to draw her blood while she is under and getting her tubes.

As I said before, I'm just excited that we are finally on our way to getting our little girl some relief from ear infections, sinus infections, congestion and constant coughing! Yay!!!!

J's Doctor visit today

She has yet another ear infection really bad in her left ear. He seems to think that her ear infections cause sinus infections which cause congestion which cause her cough. We can't give her the best antibiotic for sinus infections, Augmentin, because we have reason to believe she may be allergic. So, she got her first of 3 Rocephin shots today and we go see the ear, nose, and throat doctor soon to talk about putting tubes in her ears. (Finally!!!)

Dr. Parr could see how one would think she has asthma from how persistant her cough has been but instead it has just been caused by perpetual infections. This is good news because now we have a more definite course of action with a potential end result of a fine, normal, healthy, little girl! That's all we want! :-)

I got to hang out with an old friend this weekend and photograph her lovely girls! It was great to see them and take some pics in a new location. The weather held out for us and I really like how the colors turned out. We also went to the annual MPR Easter Egg Hunt! It was fun, and J kept stopping to pick up only the suckers since that is what she likes best. She ended up with a few eggs full of smarties, and she really likes those too! We also were surprised to see our Aunt Cindy, Uncle Lee and cousins: John, Ann Marie, and Thomas. It was a fun day hanging out and catching up. Julia has been doing some really funny things lately. I can't think of them all now, but I owe you a post of the good ones. L and I will get together and see what we come up with. Today, I got to take some pics of one of my favorite couples. Here is my friend Monica and her brother's family from Sunday in the bluebonnets! This was such a great family and you could tell the cousins always have a blast together! Thanks so much Monica and Natalie for sharing your beautiful families with me! I also got to meet Brittany and her two adorable kiddos! They were just too cute and had the cutest little Aggie and Easter outfits! Then we met up with Kari and her family in another bluebonnet patch by the airport. Hadlee, Everett, and Karson were so cute and loved playing in the flowers. These are all proofs straight from the camera. I will still make some color correction, cropping, and do a little retouching. :) Let me know what you think! I'd also like to say a big THANK YOU to Lindsay for helping me out on the most windy day of the year, helping me by holding a wind-sail of a reflector. Thanks Linds!!!

We listed our cats on Craigslist for free b/c Juila is allergic. We had someone come by just now and take them to their new home. I am pretty sad! :-( I've had little kitty for 10 years! It'll be the best for all involved though. The family that took them had a cat that died 2 years ago so they have had a cat before and missed having one around. They also live on 54 acres out in the country and the lady stays home all day. I think they will get the attention they deserve with these nice people which will be good. Plus, Julia's skin should clear up and I can keep the house cleaner too! I just know that when Julia wakes up from her nap, she'll be asking about them. That'll be sad and hard to explain that they are gone. The new owners said they would take lots of pictures and send them to me so that is neat.

Long time-- no posts!

So we have been gone for such a long time! We drove to Chicago (see some pics here), Then I went to G.G.'s to visit and help her with her house. J had fun and stayed in Chicago with Babcia and Dziadek while Uncle Peter was visiting from Poland. (see those pics here! :-) ) Then I came back and took some pics of some sweet families, see here and here. I'll try to post a better update soon. I just wanted to let you all know we are all good and back under the same roof!

Today, my friend called and as soon as I hung up, J said, "That was......?", asking who I talked to! It was so funny, like a parent asking a teenager who was calling! :-) She also ate a half of a cinnamon raisin bagel with cream cheese for breakfast! Who knew she would like it so much! Today we are off to Mainly Music with some friends. Next week, we are driving to Chicago for the fun of the road trip with my two sisters, J and L. J's uncle Peter is visiting from Krakow so it will be good to see him. J will stay in Chi-town for a bit to have a longer visit and I will go to Lubbock to visit my grandma with my mom. Busy times for us, not to mention, I'm in the process of editing over 3000 images from this weekend, from senior pics, to baby births, to a wedding! I'm busy!

We all enjoyed L's mom's visit over the past week. She kept us full of good cooking! We look forward to seeing her again soon!

This is what J's skin test looked like. She is allergic to peanuts! The purple mark is the letter "P" for peanut to show where he pricked her with the peanut extract. We will see how it goes and we are getting her epi-pen prescription filled as we speak.

Last week J's school celebrated "Western Week". They had snacks like smores, trail mix, beef jerky, and beans, yum! I volunteered to take photos of all the classes on the cute little display they put together. I ended up with almost 100 kiddos photos! I'm working on editing them now and they are turning out so cute! Here are a few of J in her favorite jacket, her "Cow Jacket". She also wore it to school this week, evidently she likes being stared at on the playground and addressed as "Moo! Moo!" by all the kids. (The teachers informed me this was what went down on the playground that day.) Here she is, a "cow" riding a "horse". Now you've seen everything!

This weekend, we went to visit Aunt Emily and Uncle Vance to celebrate their new house. J got to spend some time at my parent's house too (where this photo was snapped). We all had a good weekend despite a scare of J breaking out in hives on Saturday night. Some benadryl helped to clear it up and we have an appointment with an allergist coming up. So we will see! I am just hoping it is not peanut allergies or antibiotic allergies. We will keep you updated. Hope you all had a good weekend. -J

Today on the way back from the park, L asked J what she wanted for dinner and she said, "I could eat some spaghetti." And L laughed and repeated what she said and she replied, "I could." Very nonchalantly the whole time. Too Funny! Speaking of, J's class sang Jingle Bells at the Christmas Program and she is just now singing it all the time around the house, especially when she has the little silk boquet she carried in Aunt E's wedding. As promised, here are more photos from the holidays. Some are redundant, but enjoy! Also, just some recent things: J loves to point out our shadows on the wall when we are changing her. I started making a rabbit shadow and then showed her how, so now she makes one too! So cute. She can also count to 10 with very little prompting and knows the ABC song, although, some of the letters in her version sound a little off. She is really enjoying Kindermusik and sang "Bom bom" by repeating the teacher in front of class today. She loves to dance to any music! If you are eating something she wants, she says, "I want a bite of that!" At least she doesn't beat around the bush!
